Historically Black Morgan State University in Baltimore has signed a partnership agreement with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. The agreement seeks to promote collaborative research, community outreach, economic development and opportunity, and workforce training.
Mark Belton, secretary of natural resources, stated that “this partnership will open many new doors for the department and Morgan State University students, be it in applied sciences, internships or skills training in emerging ‘green’ careers and fields.”
Under the agreement, the department will provide apprenticeships, fellowships, and internships focused in the fields of construction, engineering, environmental infrastructure, information technology and science. The department and the university will also collaborate on research projects, academic presentations, publications, and economic development programs.
