North Carolina A&T State University Achieves Record in Research Funding

North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, announced that the university received $62.5 million in research contracts and grants during the 2016-17 year. This was a record for the university. Research awards for North Carolina A&T State University have tripled since 2001, when the university took in $18.4 million in grant money.

Harold L. Martin Sr., chancellor of North Carolina A&T State University, stated that “the outstanding work of our faculty not only brought in more support for our research programs than in any previous year, but made significant contributions to the advancement of science, particularly in the STEM disciplines in which A&T’s work is so well known.”

“As we prepare to begin construction on a new engineering complex and continue to realize more of the research benefits from last year’s academic reorganization,” Chancellor Martin added,  “we hope to build on this new milestone, delivering even more scientific, educational and economic impact in the months and years ahead.”
