Colwick Wilson is the new provost at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. The historically Black university, which is affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, enrolls about 1,750 undergraduate students and approximately 50 graduate students. Dr. Wilson has two daughters who are currently enrolled at Oakwood University.
Dr. Wilson was the director of research, innovation, and grants at Kettering Health Network in Ohio. Earlier, he served in several capacities at Loma Linda University in Los Angeles including associate dean and chair of the department of counseling and family sciences.
Dr. Wilson is a graduate Caribbean Union College in Trinidad and Tobago. He holds a master’s degree in counseling from Eastern Michigan University and a second master’s degree and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Michigan.
