Voorhees College Appoints Three African Americans to Executive Posts

Voorhees College, the historically Black educational institution in Denmark, South, Carolina, has announced the appointment of three African Americans to executive positions.

Herman Mason Jr. was named director of library services. For the past several years, Mason has worked as a consultant. He is the editor of Going Against the Wind: A Pictorial History of African-Americans in Atlanta (Longstreet Press, 1993). Mason is a graduate of Morris Brown College in Atlanta, where he majored in mass communication. He holds a master of library and information science degree from Atlanta University and a master of divinity degree from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta.

Wilhelmenia Lee was appointed director of sponsored programs at the university. She has been serving as director of food services at the college. She will be responsible for growing the institution’s funding portfolio through grants, contracts, and other services. Lee earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational management and a master’s degree in business administration from Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

LaSandra Robinson is the new director of admissions at Voorhees College. She is a former admissions officer at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg. Robinson earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in school counseling from South Carolina State University.
