Leslie Howard Is the New Leader of Women and Mathematics Education

Leslie M. Howard has been elected president of Women and Mathematics Education, a nonprofit organization that promotes mathematics education for women and girls. The organization is affiliated with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics.

Howard will serve as president for a two-year term. She is an adjunct associate professor of mathematics at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She has taught at Temple University and Drexel University, both in Philadelphia, and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Howard is graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in mathematics She holds an MBA in corporate finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
