Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina announced that it has dismissed Nolan Davis as senior associate vice chancellor for student affairs. He had held the position since 2016.
In September, a group of student leaders had called for Davis’ dismissal. They claimed that Davis did not attend a large number of campus events and when he did, he did not stay long.

The university hopes to have a permanent replacement for Davis by the beginning of the 2018-19 school year.
Update: An earlier version of this post incorrectly indicated that Valerie Holmes had earned a doctorate at Indiana State. We apologize for the error. An interim director of student affairs has since been named.
