Roy E. Malcolm, a long-time faculty member and administrator at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, died on April 29. He was 83 years old.
During a 44-year career at Oakwood University, Dr Malcolm served as registrar, dean of administration, academic vice president, commencement coordinator, dean of college relations, and manager of the Aeolians, the award-winning university choir.
Dr. Malcolm also served as chair of the American Education Week celebration held annually in Huntsville and the bi-annual Festival of Spirituals, which features performances by choirs of several historically Black colleges and universities.
Dr. Malcolm held a doctorate in guidance, higher education administration, and research from Ohio State University.
