Jaffus Hardrick to Lead Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens

The board of trustees of Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, has selected Jaffus Hardrick to serve as interim president of the historically Black educational institution. On July 16, he will replace Castell V. Bryant, who has served as interim president. Dr. Hardrick will be the third person to serve as interim president since August 2017 when Roslyn Artis left to become president of Benedict College in South Carolina.

Dr. Hardrick has spent the last 10 years of his career as vice provost for student access and success and vice president for human resources at Florida International University in Miami. From 1995 to 2008, Dr. Hardrick held administrative posts at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

Dr. Hardrick is a graduate of the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, where he majored in sociology. He holds a master’s degree in counseling from Prairie View A&M University in Texas, and a doctorate in educational administration from Baylor University.
