Two African American Faculty Members to Serve as Chief Diversity Officers

Ronnie A. Dunn, an associate professor in the College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University in Ohio, is taking on the added duties of interim chief diversity and inclusion officer at the university. He joined the faculty at the university in 2004.

Dr. Dunn is the author of Boycotts, Busing, & Beyond: The History & Implications of School Desegregation in the Urban North (Kendall-Hunt Publishing, 2016). He holds a Ph.D. in urban studies from Cleveland State University.

Keith A. Alford, an associate professor and graduate program director in the School of Social Work at Syracuse University in New York, was named interim chief diversity officer for the university. Dr. Alford joined the faculty at Syracuse University in 1996.

Dr. Alford is a graduate of Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina, where he majored in history and sociology. He holds a master of social work degree and a Ph.D. in social work from Ohio State University.
