Reginald Avery, president of Coppin State University in Baltimore, held a town hall meeting on campus to allow students, faculty, and staff to air their grievances. The faculty Senate recently approved a no confidence resolution against Dr. Avery.
President Avery received high marks for his efforts to consider constructive criticism. He stated to the crowd of about 300 participants, “Put pressure on this president, criticize him, argue with him, whatever you want to do. I respect that.”
Dr. Avery said he would hold more forums in the future to open the lines of communication at the university. He is also appointing an advisory panel of students, faculty, and staff.
