David Wilson, president of Morgan State University in Baltimore, has revealed a new five-year strategic plan for the historically Black university. This coincides with President Wilson’s recent five-year renewal contract with the university.
At the start of the current academic year, President Wilson announced a number of ambitious goals for the institution including a complete renovation of the Dixon Research Center, the successful conclusion of the Sesquicentennial Anniversary Campaign, the start of the Northwood shopping center redevelopment project and a long-rang plan of action to address student housing needs.
President Wilson’s new five-year plan builds upon these goals and the university’s current strategic plan. The new plan will focus on enhancing student success and experiences; improving Morgan’s infrastructure; enhancing doctoral research university standing; increasing resources; managing student enrollment; expanding community engagement and support; and advancing athletics.
“Although we have made many great strides here at Morgan, we have yet to attain all of the ambitious goals we set for ourselves seven years ago. This reassessment of our goals is not a redirection but a continuation down our current path of progress and a recognition of the things we need to anticipate during the next five years,” said President Wilson.
