Three African Americans in New Administrative Posts in Higher Education

Noelle Chaddock has been named vice president for equity and inclusion at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She currently serves as the associate provost and deputy Title IX coordinator at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee.

Dr. Chaddock holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Binghamton University in New York, including a doctorate in philosophy, interpretation, and culture.

Domonic Cobb has been named director of the Office of Minority Student Affairs at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He had been serving as interim director since October 2016 and has been associate dean of students since 2011.

Cobb holds a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s degree in educational policy analysis both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Cynthia Downing has been named executive director of career services and experimental learning at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro. She had been serving as interim executive director for the past year.

Downing holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Howard University and a master’s degree in adult education from North Carolina A&T University.

In Memoriam: Nathan Howard Cook, 1939-2024

Dr. Cook was a longtime faculty member and administrator at Lincoln University of Missouri. A full professor of biology, he held several leadership roles including vice president for academic affairs.
