The Weissman School houses 13 academic departments and offers more than 30 undergraduate majors and 50 liberal arts and interdisciplinary minors. The Associate Dean’s office administers these academic programs, manages block programming and registration for more than 2,600 first-year students as well as all continuing students in liberal arts programs and courses, and oversees student academic progress toward graduation, including through the creation and maintenance of special programs to support student success.

Reporting to the Weissman Associate Dean, the Data Analysis and Assessment Specialist:

  • Serves as technology and resource expert regarding department processes to support scheduling, block programming, student enrollment in courses and programs, and program assessment.
  • Serves as query manager to write and run queries in CUNYfirst (a PeopleSoft tool).
  • Analyzes data and produces reports on student records, enrollment patters in programs and courses, and related topics.
  • Creates and supports a system for first-year student enrollment, including the creation and maintenance of databases for the Weissman Director of Scheduling, Registration, and enrollment Data Management.
  • Maintains and manages accepted student records and prepares reports and statistical data for major and minor programs and student advisement.
  • Designs, implements, analyzes, and reports results related to recruitment, admissions, retention, academic enrichment, student outcomes, and strategic planning for the Dean, Associate Dean, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepares current and historical data on enrollment and course outcomes.
  • Provides data for assessment and accreditation reports.
  • Liaises with the school assessment manager and Office of the Assistant Provost for Assessment, Accreditation, and Institutional Effectiveness.
  • Provides staff support for the Associate Dean’s Office.
  • Creates, manages, and/or supports course waitlists, as needed.
  • Responds to ad hoc requests for information.

$62,411- $70,238; Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and four years’ relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analysis, statistics, computer science, information management, or other relevant fields is highly desirable.
  • 1-2 years of SQL programming experience.
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft, Tableau, Excel, MySQL or similar database management system, and SPSS or other statistical package.
  • Experience in quantitative methods, enrollment management, student services, and strategic planning and familiarity with assessment software a plus.
