The President oversees a steadily growing institution within an enrollment-sensitive environment, positioned for continued momentum within the nation's largest public higher education system.

The successful candidate will have interdisciplinary expertise in Jewish Studies suitable for a tenure-track appointment in one of the following academic departments: English, Modern Languages and Comparative Literatures, Philosophy, or Sociology and Anthropology; and affiliation with the Wasserman Jewish Studies Center, including with its newly established Antisemitism Studies Lab.

The selected candidate will be responsible for serving as an attending physician providing clinical coverage at Eastern Long Island Hospital emergency medicine; teaching and supervising residents and medical students.

Reporting to the Chair of the Natural Sciences Department, Deputy chair of Biology and Chief College Laboratory Technician, the College Laboratory Technicians (CLT) will provide technical support for undergraduate courses and for research by designated faculty where appropriate.

The incoming Dean is charged with shaping a bold, forward-looking vision aligned with Upstate’s institutional strategy. This includes championing innovation, enhancing academic distinction, and identifying opportunities to expand enrollment, strengthen revenue, and elevate the College’s national profile.

The Vice Chair for Research will work under the direction of the Systems Chair and in collaboration with other departmental Vice Chairs, Division Chiefs, and Center Directors to provide overall vision, leadership, and coordination of the Department of Emergency Medicine's diverse research team and portfolio.
