California State University, East Bay invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the College of Science.
The California State University (CSU) is the largest four-year university system in the United States and is also proudly one of the most diverse and affordable university systems in the nation. Ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top public university, Cal State East Bay is one of 23 campuses in the CSU system. The beautiful main campus is located in the Hayward Hills with panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay shoreline.
The College of Science at Cal State East Bay currently houses ten academic departments as well as the School of Engineering and serves approximately 4,000 undergraduates and 660 graduate students. The College employs about 255 faculty and 50 staff, with an operational budget of approximately $19 million.
The new Dean of Science will be a creative and collaborative leader who will join Cal State East Bay at an exciting time of transition. Reporting to the Provost, the Dean will be poised to champion the academic programs in the College of Science while building synergies across the other colleges to achieve the university’s strategic goals.
