Francis Marion University and the Department of English and Philosophy invite applications for an Assistant Professor of English specializing in Professional and Technical Communication. This is a tenure-track position with a 4/3 teaching load. Primary responsibilities will include teaching courses in UX writing and research, technical communication, multimedia writing, business writing, and first-year writing. This hire may have the opportunity to serve as the Technical and Professional Writing Program Director in future years.
The successful candidate will have a research agenda in Professional and Technical Communication and experience with teaching business writing, technical communication, and first-year writing. Candidates are expected to excel in teaching and participate in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Strong candidates will demonstrate the skills needed to coordinate the student internship program and the Technical and Professional Writing Program in the coming years.

Requirements: A Ph.D. in Professional and Technical Communication or Rhetoric and Composition at the time of appointment (although ABDs nearing completion of their degree will be considered).
