The Department of Human Nutrition, Hospitality and Sport Management invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Sport Management beginning Fall 2027. It is an exciting time to join The University of Alabama as this start date coincides with the launch of the newly established Department of Hospitality and Sport Management! The successful candidate will be someone who can contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and success of our Sport Management Bachelor and Master of Science programs through teaching, research, and service.

Responsibilities: Research, teaching, and service to support and advance the mission of the University including:
- Develop and maintain a robust research agenda that advances knowledge in Sport Management.
- Pursue external funding to support research activities.
- Deliver high-quality instruction across undergraduate and graduate Sport Management classes.
- Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students in their academic and career development.
- Contribute to department, college, and university service through committee participation and professional engagement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate degree in Sport Management or related field.
- Research productivity evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and scholarly conference presentations.
- Evidence of successful teaching or instructional leadership at the collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An impactful research agenda and/or teaching expertise in Sport Management subdisciplines such as law, marketing, finance, data analytics, and other emerging areas of industry relevance.
- Demonstrated potential for securing external funding.
- Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration and community partnerships.
- Evidence of student mentoring and advising.
