Applications are now being accepted for a Renewable Contract Faculty (RCF) Teaching Assistant Professor position in Sport Management
Start Fall 2027
The Department of Human Nutrition, Hospitality and Sport Management, a growing Department with a thriving faculty, seeks to fill a faculty position in Sport Management beginning in the Fall 2027 semester. It is one of five academic units within the College of Human Environmental Sciences at The University of Alabama. Due to our continued program growth, the department will split, resulting in the formation of the Department of Hospitality and Sport Management starting Fall 2027.

Responsibilities: Teaching and service to articulate The University of Alabama’s mission including but not limited to:
- Teach a 4-4 course load at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Recruit and mentor students.
- Academic and professional advising for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Serve on Departmental, College, and University committees.
- Engage in scholarly activity within the field of Sport Management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate degree in Sport Management or related field by the position start date.
- Evidence of successful teaching and course management at the collegiate level.
- Evidence of successful student mentorship/advising and/or service to the organization/academy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years industry experience working in the field of Hospitality or Sport Management.
- Evidence of course development in the Sport Management discipline.
- Ability to conducting research to advance the Sport Management discipline.
- The program welcomes candidates with the ability to teach across one or more areas of sport business. Current program needs include marketing, law, finance, data analytics, and sales, although candidates with other relevant teaching strengths are also encouraged to apply.
