Taking on new duties relating to diversity are Russell Morrow in the College of Business at Ohio University, Tanyka M. Barber at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, E. Cheryl Ponder at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Bill Woodsen at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York.
Dr. Vincent is the former president of Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York Previously, he was the W.K. Kellogg Professor of Community College Leadership, professor of law, and vice president for diversity and community engagement at the University of Texas at Austin.
Currently, Dr. Ufomata had served as special advisor to the president and board of trustees at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York. She first joined the colleges in 2012 as provost and dean of faculty. She will become provost at St. Mary's College on June 1.
The announcement that Dr. Rice would be the recipient of the Hubert Humphrey Award has upset some members of the political science field. Over 130 scholars have signed a petition calling for the American Political Science Association to revoke Dr. Rice's award.
