Southern University Switching to Four-Day Class Schedule

For the spring center, Southern University in Baton Rouge will not hold any classes on Fridays. Chancellor Charles Llorens stated that employees will continue to work five says a week but classes will be held only on Mondays through Thursdays in an effort to save costs on utilities.

Under the plan, classes that met for 50 minutes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will now meet on Monday and Wednesday only for one hour and 20 minutes each day.

Dr. Lomax is currently in his twentieth year as president and CEO of the United Negro College Fund. He has dedicated his five-decades-long career to civic duty and education, including service as the fifth president of Dillard University in New Orleans.
