Temple University’s New Website Documents the Civil Rights Struggle in Philadelphia

Temple University has debuted a new website that documents the civil rights struggle in Philadelphia. The site has archives containing about 1,500 items including news clippings, television footage, oral histories, correspondence, and photographs.

The website devotes much of its attention to the desegregation of Girard College in Philadelphia and the Columbia Avenue riots of 1964.

The project is under the direction of Brenda Galloway-Wright, associate archivist at the Temple University Special Collections Research Center.
