Jackson State University President a Victim of Cyberstalking

carolynmeyers-head-shoulders1Police have arrested a 20-year-old man and accused him of cyberstalking Jackson State University President Carolyn Meyers. Jhamerius Darshawn Mack of Raymond, Mississippi, who is not a student at the university, was charged with making threats against President Meyers on social media sites. The charges are felonies and Mack was placed in the Hinds County Detention Center.

According to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, Mack made threats against Meyers on his Facebook page. The bio on his Facebook page states that he is a pre-dentistry graduate of Hinds Community College.

Study Finds Preterm Births Among Low-Income Black Women Are on the Rise

From 2014-2022, the rate of preterm births in the United States rose from 6.8 percent to 7.5 percent. However, among Black women with public insurance, this rate jumped to a staggering 11.3 percent.
