Colorado State University Scientist to Be Honored by the Institute of Caribbean Studies

Robert France, Department of Computer Science, Colorado State UniversityRobert B. France, professor of computer science at Colorado State University, has been selected to receive the Excellence in Science and Technology Award from the Institute of Caribbean Studies. The award recognizes a person of Caribbean descent who “epitomizes commitment, leadership, and unmatched contributions to expanding awareness about science and technology in the Caribbean and on the global stage.” Dr. France is a native of Jamaica. He will receive the award on November 14 in Washington, D.C.

Dr. France has been on the faculty at Colorado State since 1998 and was promoted to full professor in 2004. Previously, he taught at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.

Professor France is a graduate of the University of the West Indies. He earned a Ph.D. in computer science at Massey University in New Zealand.
