Yvette Gullatt was named the inaugural vice provost for diversity and engagement at the University of California, Berkeley. She was serving as vice provost for educational partnerships at the university.
Dr. Gullatt has been on the staff at the university for 25 years. She holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, all from the University of California, Berkeley.
Whitney Battle-Baptiste was named director of the W.E.B. Du Bois Center at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Libraries. She is an associate professor of anthropology at the university. Dr. Battle-Baptiste joined the faculty at the University of Massachusetts in 2007. She is the author of Black Feminist Archaeology (Left Coast Press, 2011).
Dr. Battle-Baptiste is a graduate of Virginia State University. She holds a master’s degree in history from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Texas.
Sean Huddleston was appointed chief diversity and inclusion officer at Framingham State University in Massachusetts. He was the assistant vice president for the strategic implementation, inclusion and equity division at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.
Huddleston is a graduate of Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan. He holds a master’s degree in education from Grand Valley State University. He is also certified as an advanced diversity practitioner by Cornell University.
Naisha Bradley was named director of the Women’s Center at Harvard University. She was the program manager for the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
Bradley is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University. She holds a master’s degree from Simmons College in Boston.
James Paine was named the inaugural assistant vice president for student affairs and dean of students at Logan University in Chesterfield, Missouri. He was serving as dean of student services at the university.
Dr. Paine is a graduate of Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Missouri and a doctorate in higher education administration from Saint Louis University.
Barry L. Wells was named special assistant to the chancellor at Syracuse University in New York. He has been serving as a consultant to the university. From 1995 to 2008, Wells was senior vice president and dean of student affairs at Syracuse.
Wells first joined the staff at Syracuse University in 1976 as director of the Office of Minority Affairs.
Tonya R. Hines was promoted to director of purchasing at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since 2012, she has served as university cashier.
Hines is a graduate of Saint Augustine’s University and holds a master’s degree from Central Michigan University. She currently is working toward a doctorate in higher education leadership at Capella University.
