In Memoriam: Joseph Pree Ramsey Jr., 1951-2016

joe+ramseyJoseph Ramsey II, former director of athletics and former chair of the Sports Hall of Fame at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, died at his home in St. Augustine, Florida. He was 65 years old.

Elmira Mangum, president of Florida A&M University stated that “Joseph Ramsey’s unconditional love for FAMU was shown through his years of service on behalf of FAMU students and our athletics programs. A person like Ramsey cannot be replaced, and he will surely be missed.”

Ramsey held a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in physical education from Florida A&M University and a doctorate in the administration of athletics and physical education from Florida State University.
