Prairie View A&M University Establishes Patent and Trademark Resource Center

The John B. Coleman Library at Prairie View A&M University, a historically Black educational institution in Texas, has recently opened a new Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC).

Designated by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, PTRCs serve as key resources to help people understand how to apply for patents and trademarks. The new center at Prairie View A&M University will provide free research support, workshops, and training opportunities for entrepreneurs. Leaders at the HBCU will also host networking events for students and local business owners who are interested in securing their intellectual property.

Prairie View A&M University is the fourth HBCU to house an on-campus PTRC. The others are Howard University in Washington, D.C., Southern University and A&M College in Louisiana, and South Carolina State University.
