Tennessee State University, a historically Black educational institution in Nashville, has established a new partnership with Middle Tennessee State University that will open the door for students at the HBCU to earn a master’s degree in athletic training.
Effective this semester, qualified students studying human performance and sports science at Tennessee State University will be assured consideration for up to two seats per cohort of the master of science degree program in athletic training at Middle Tennessee State University. Students interested in enrolling in the graduate program at MTSU will receive specialized advising, a streamlined admissions roadmap, and a clear alignment of coursework to meet required prerequisites.
“In the evolving landscape of health and sports science, partnerships like these are vital,” said Dr. Robbie Melton, provost and vice president of academic affairs at Tennessee State University. “They empower our students to achieve their professional aspirations while addressing the increasing demand in the athletic training field.”
