The Sachs Foundation, an organization dedicated to furthering racial equity for Black Coloradans through education and community programming, has announced the selection of 53 Black scholars who will receive a combined $1.9 million in scholarships.
Founded in 1931, the Sachs Foundation has awarded more than $44.6 million in scholarships to over 3,300 students and funded numerous community youth, education, and health programs. The organization’s flagship scholarships support both undergraduate and graduate Black students in Colorado. In addition to awarding scholarships, the foundation facilitates student mentorship and career development initiatives.
“This moment belongs to our scholars. Their brilliance, their ambition and their future,” said Ben Ralston, CEO of the Sachs Foundation. “In a moment where many institutions are retreating from their commitments to equity, we’re proud to stay firm in ours. The work we do is not just about scholarships – it’s about ensuring access, opportunity and belonging for Black students who are too often excluded. We are overjoyed to invest in such an exceptional group of scholars and can’t wait to see everything they accomplish.”
