North Carolina A&T State University Establishes Double Master’s Degree Program in Agriculture and Business

Beginning in the spring 2026 semester, historically Black North Carolina A&T State University will launch a double master’s degree pathway that will allow students to earn an MBA and a master’s degree in agricultural and environmental systems in as soon as two years.

Currently, NCA&T’s graduate degree in agriculture offers a concentration in agribusiness and food industry management. Building on the concentration’s curriculum, the dual-degree program will offer students a more comprehensive business education, covering topics such as strategic marketing, logistics management, and business analytics. The 45-credit-hour curriculum will also include experiential learning through internships and practicum opportunities with leading industry partners.

“Agriculture accounts for one-fifth of [North Carolina’s] gross domestic product,” said Antoine Alston, associate dean of academic studies for NCA&T’s College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. “This industry is going to require individuals with the knowledge, skills, and disposition to understand the market, and the intricacies that make up the agricultural, food, and environmental industry, which is different from other types of enterprises.”
