
Dr. Rogers comes to the HBCU from the University of Rhode Island, where he was the Alfred J. Verrecchia-Hasbro Inc. Leadership Chair in Business and dean of the College of Business. Before his career in academia, he worked in finance, industrial engineering, and marketing at several airlines and transportation companies, including US Airways, American West Airlines, ATA Airlines, AirTran Airways, and UPS. He is a U.S. Army combat veteran and currently serves in the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a Medical Service Corps officer.
Dr. Rogers is an alumnus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in aviation business and his MBA. He holds a master’s degree in human resource development from the University of Illinois, a master’s degree in law from Wake Forest University in North Carolina, a master’s degree in healthcare leadership from Brown University in Rhode Island, and a Ph.D. in industrial relations and human resources from Rutgers University in New Jersey.

Prior to his new role, Dr. Lewis was an assistant professor and program chair for marketing and sport management at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Earlier in his tenure there, he was director of TRIO Student Support Services. Dr. Lewis also has extensive experience in experiential learning, community partnership development, and strategic consulting.
Dr. Lewis holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast communications and a master’s degree in sports management from Barry University in Miami. He earned his MBA from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and a Ph.D. in higher education leadership from the Indiana Institute of Technology.
