Akirah Bradley-Armstrong has been named vice chancellor for student life at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Bradley-Armstrong joins MIT from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she has served the past four years as vice chancellor for student affairs and success. Earlier in her career, she was vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of Colorado Boulder. Dr. Bradley-Armstrong has also held senior student life positions at the University of California, Berkeley.
A graduate of Mansfield University in Pennsylvania, Dr. Bradley-Armstrong holds a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs administration from the University of Vermont and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of California, Davis.
Corey Edmonds is interim vice president for enrollment management at Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina. Edmonds most recently served as the HBCU’s associate vice president for enrollment management and executive director of admissions and recruitment. Before joining Morris College, he served in various admissions leadership roles at North Carolina Central University and Mississippi Valley State University.
Edmonds is an alumnus of Morris College, where he majored in recreation administration. He holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from North Carolina Central University. Edmonds is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in urban higher education from Jackson State University in Mississippi.
Nechell Bonds was appointed vice president for enrollment management and student success at Prairie View A&M University in Texas. Bonds comes to her new role from Oregon State University, where she was vice provost for enrollment management. Earlier, she was vice president for enrollment management at East Texas A&M University.
Bonds received her bachelor’s degree in international business from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, and her master of education degree from Grand Valley State University in Michigan.
Juanita Womack is the new assistant vice provost and university register at Emory University in Atlanta. With more than 24 years of higher education experience, Womack has previously held admissions and enrollment management positions at American University in Washington, D.C., Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, Drexel University in Philadelphia, and Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Maryland.
Womack holds an MBA from Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in higher education leadership from Walden University. She is completing work on doctorate in organizational leadership from Franklin University in Ohio.
Taran L. McZee is the new chief of staff to the president and CEO at Talladega College in Alabama. Dr. McZee has an extensive background in higher education leadership, including prior experience in student success, organizational development, strategic planning, executive coaching, and crisis response. Most recently, he was vice president for belonging and culture and Title IX officer at Albion College in Michigan. Earlier, he held key leadership roles with Grand Valley State University in Michigan and Transylvania University in Kentucky.
Dr. McZee earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology and his master’s degree in educational administration and community leadership from Central Michigan University. He holds a Ph.D. in educational policy studies and evaluation from the University of Kentucky.
Nakia Pugh was promoted from interim register to permanent university registrar at the University of the District of Columbia. Pugh has more than 15 years of higher education experience in academic records administration, institutional policy, student information systems, and regulatory compliance. Before her interim appointment in 2024, Pugh served as the university’s associate registrar for six years.
Pugh holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Delaware State University and a master’s degree in administration from Trinity Washington University.
Rosalyn Galloway is the new associate vice chancellor for advancement operations at North Carolina A&T State University. Galloway comes to her new role with more than three decades of experience in institutional advancement and operations. Most recently, she was assistant vice chancellor for advancement services at North Carolina Central University. Her background in higher education also includes advancement roles at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and Western Carolina University.
Galloway is a graduate of Montreat College in North Carolina, where she majored in business administration.
