C. Vanessa White is the new associate director of the master’s degree program in theology in the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University in New Orleans. Dr. White is an associate professor of spirituality and ministry at the university.
Dr. White holds a bachelor’s degree in child development and family services from Northern Illinois University. She earned a master’s degree in theological studies and a doctor of ministry degree from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.
Rufus Bonds Jr. has joined Syracuse University as a tenure-track assistant professor of musical theater in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. His Broadway credits include “Rent,” “Once on This Island” and “Parade.”
Bonds is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. He holds a master of fine arts degree from California State University, Fullerton.
Tia-Simone Gardner is a new assistant professor of cultural and media studies at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is a practicing visual artist who works primarily with photography and video.
Originally from Alabama, Dr. Gardner earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She holds a master of fine arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Ph.D. in feminist studies from the University of Minnesota.
Tiffany Wright was named an adjunct professor and supervising attorney for the Howard University Civil Rights Clinic, housed in the Clinical Law Center. Wright is a senior associate in the D.C., office of Orrick, Herrington, and Sutcliffe.
Wright is a magna cum laude graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center, and subsequently served as a law clerk to the Sonia Sotomayor on the United States Supreme Court.
