African American Student at Auburn University Wins Scholarship to Study Architecture in Turkey

Clark_D'NDon’Neisha Clark, a senior at Auburn University in Alabama, has been selected to receive a Gilman Scholarship from the Institute for International Education. Clark, who is majoring in architecture, design, and construction, will use the scholarship to study at the Istanbul Technical University in Turkey for the spring semester.

The Gilman Scholarship program is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.

“My goal for studying abroad is to experience and gain a better perspective of the world around us,” Clark said. “Studying in Turkey will provide me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and understanding of the historical context of architecture.”
