Tyrone Jackson Appointed President of Southeast Arkansas College

Tyrone Jackson has been appointed president of Southeast Arkansas College in Pine Bluff. He will assume his presidency of the community college on July 1.

Southeast Arkansas College enrolls roughly 900 students, 61 percent of whom are African American.

Dr. Jackson has an extensive background in higher education with over three decades of experience in various administrative and academic roles. Currently, he serves as president of Mississippi Delta Community College. Prior to his present position, he was associate vice president for student services at Hinds Community College in Mississippi and vice president for the college’s Utica campus. Earlier in his career, he spent many years at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, serving in admissions, diversity, and academic leadership positions. He also held student services leadership roles with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Dr. Jackson is a three-time graduate of Delta State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in general studies and sociology, master of education degree in social sciences and sociology, and a doctorate in professional studies and educational leadership.
