Three Black Women Scholars Selected for Dean Positions

Donna Stoddard has been appointed dean of the faculty at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. With over 30 years of experience on the Babson faculty, she currently serves as chair of the operations and information management division. Earlier in her career, she taught in the MBA and executive education programs at Harvard Business School.

Dr. Stoddard holds a bachelor’s degree from Creighton University in Nebraska, an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a doctorate in business administration from Harvard Business School.

Bridgett Golman has been named interim vice president of student affairs and dean of students at Tennessee State University, a historically Black university in Nashville. She has nearly three decades of combined experience in higher education student affairs at research universities, public universities, and community colleges.

Dr. Golman holds a master’s degree in student counseling and personnel services from the University of South Carolina and a doctorate in higher education administration from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Felisa Higgins has been appointed associate vice provost and dean of the John Martinson Honors College at Purdue University in Indiana. In addition to her leadership appointment, she will teach as a professor of practice of industrial engineering in the Mitch Daniels School of Business. She comes to her new role from Pennsylvania State University, where she served as the Donan Professor of Business and associate dean of undergraduate education in the Smeal College of Business.

Dr. Higgins holds three degrees in industrial engineering: a bachelor’s degree from historically Black Florida A&M University, a master’s degree from Florida State University, and a Ph.D. from Purdue University.
