The University of Toledo (UToledo), a student-centered, public metropolitan research university, seeks a distinguished leader to serve as Dean, Neff College of Business and Innovation.

UToledo became a member of the state university system in 1967 and merged in July 2006 with the Medical University of Ohio. The University is on the precipice of achieving the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education’s highest and most coveted Very High Research Activity status (R1) for the next adjustment in 2025. The John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation was established in 1930 and is currently the second-largest professional college on the campus of UToledo. It is home to over 2,100 students, 50 full-time faculty, 16 full-time staff, and nearly 38,000 alumni worldwide. The College is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) and is also one of roughly 2% of institutions to hold an additional, specialized AACSB Accreditation for its accounting program. The College occupies Stranahan Hall and The Savage & Associates Complex for Business Learning and Engagement. These facilities include five action learning labs and serve as a hub for community outreach and engagement activities. The Alan Barry Accounting Lab is distinctive in the nation for having licenses for both CPA and CMA review materials available free for students; it also has tutors and software to help students improve their accounting and writing skills. The Edward H. Schmidt School of Professional Sales (ESSPS) is one of the top university sales programs in the world, with a world-class curriculum, a high-tech sales lab, professional certifications, and multiple corporate, university and international partnerships.
UToledo seeks a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the next Dean. Reporting to the Provost, the Dean will provide the strategy and vision for the College and will lead the faculty in shaping its future, in growing its recognition and reputation, and in strengthening enrollment. In addition, the Dean will collaborate with a committed constituency of faculty, staff, alumni, undergraduate and graduate students as well as internal and external partners with a particular focus on generating financial support and resources.
The successful candidate will bring a vision for the future of business education and the Neff College of Business and Innovation. Candidates may emerge from various experiences, achievements and leadership histories both within and outside of the academy. The next Dean will bring substantial experience within their chosen professional track in leading large units towards significant growth and impact. All candidates from the academic career path should have a terminal degree relevant to their discipline, while those from outside the academy should be in a top leadership role within their industry and organization(s). In addition, the ideal candidate will ensure the school maintains AACSB accreditation with excellence, foster a collegial environment, and drive strategic initiatives that enhance the College’s reputation and impact.
