Jason Moore, associate professor of business administration at Paul Quinn College in Dallas, Texas, has recently been named a Fulbright Scholar. He is the first faculty member at the HBCU to receive the prestigious award.
Administered by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is one of the world’s most selective international exchange programs. The award allows scholars to further their teaching and research abroad.
As a Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Moore will receive funding to collaborate with faculty, administrators, and students at the Bethlehem Moravian College in Jamaica through his “Empowering Futures Project.” The initiative aims to cultivate a new generation of socially conscious innovators by providing students with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to create economic opportunities within their communities. During the 2025-2026 academic year, Dr. Moore and his collaborators will facilitate entrepreneurship workshops, enhance students’ communications and leadership skills, and provide students with access to practical business development resources.
“Being named Paul Quinn’s first Fulbright Scholar is an incredible honor that reflects not just a personal milestone but the power and promise of a supportive Paul Quinn community,” said Dr. Moore. “The Fulbright experience will allow me to deepen my commitment to equity and innovation in higher education, contribute to meaningful global dialogue, and support student entrepreneurs to inspire meaningful change and economic opportunity. I look forward to learning from and working alongside scholars and leaders in Jamaica to explore sustainable solutions that uplift communities.”
A Paul Quinn faculty member for the past decade, Dr. Moore received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and his MBA in accounting and finance from Hampton University in Virginia. He earned his Ph.D. in leadership from Dallas Baptist University.
