Campus of Paine College Named to National Registry of Historic Places

PaineCollegeThe campus of Paine College in Augusta, Georgia, has been placed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The registry is the country’s list of historic buildings, structures, sites, and districts worthy of preservation.

Among the historic landmarks on the Paine College campus are Candler Memorial Library, Mary Helm Hall, Epworth Residential Hall and the Gilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel.

George C. Bradley, president of Paine College, stated, “This is a major milestone in the college’s 131-year existence and we look forward to making additional milestones and accomplishments in the legacy of Paine College.”
