
Dr. Parker comes to her new role with nearly two decades of experience in higher education. Most recently, she served as associate vice president and executive dean for the College of Health Sciences at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. Earlier, she held a variety of academic roles with the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, including director of the Clinical Learning Center in the Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing and Health Professions. A registered nurse, Dr. Parker has extensive clinical experience in neonatal, pediatric, maternal-child, and intensive care settings.
“I am honored to join the UTPB community and look forward to advancing healthcare, health professions education, and community impact through collaboration and shared purpose,” said Dr. Parker. “By listening, learning, and working together, we will expand access, strengthen programs, and make a lasting difference in the communities we serve.”
Dr. Parker is a graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She holds a master’s degree in nursing from the University of the Incarnate Word, a master’s degree in education from the University of Illinois, and a Ph.D. in nursing from the University of Texas at Austin.
