Description
The Division of Social Sciences seeks to hire one social scientist working on “AI and society” broadly defined, including the application of AI to innovative research questions and/or the implications of AI for society. The appointment will be a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor and may begin as early as July 1, 2027. Candidates will be expected to sustain an active research and publication profile and teach in the relevant undergraduate and graduate programs.

The successful candidate will be appointed in one of the following departments:

  • African American and African Diaspora Studies
  • Anthropology
  • History
  • Sociology

Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a completed the PhD by June 30, 2027, the time of appointment. Candidates from all social science fields are welcome to apply.
