Mortimer Neufville Named President of Coppin State University in Baltimore

Mortimer H. Neufville named interim president for Coppin State University - baltimoresun.comLast November, Mortimer H. Neufville was named interim president of Coppin State University in Baltimore. At the time, Dr. Neufville said he was not a candidate to lead Coppin State University on a permanent basis. But now he has been named the sixth president of the university.

From August 2011 to June 2012, Dr. Neufville served as interim president of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Over a 15-year career at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Dr. Neufville served in many administrative positions at the university, including vice president for academic affairs. He is the former executive vice president of the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities.

Dr. Neufville is a graduate of Tuskegee University and holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in animal science from the University of Florida.
