Jeffrey R. Thomas, an assistant professor of religion at Paine College in Augusta, Georgia, died earlier this month. He also served as the pastor of the Trinity Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Augusta.
Dr. Thomas was a 2001 summa cum laude graduate of Paine College. He held a master of divinity degree and a Ph.D. in theology and personality from the Claremont School of Theology in California. He also earned a master’s degree at the Clinebell Institute for Pastoral Counseling and Psychotherapy at Claremont.
While at Claremont, Dr. Thomas was active in the ministry to the homeless population of Los Angeles.
