Hugh Mighty to Lead the Howard University College of Medicine

Mighty, HughHoward University in Washington, D.C., has announced that Hugh E. Mighty will be the 18th dean of its College of Medicine. Dr. Mighty will also serve as vice president for clinical affairs and as a professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Mighty has been serving as vice chancellor for clinical affairs at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. Earlier in his career, he was chair of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Dr. Mighty is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He earned his medical degree at the University of Maryland and also holds an MBA from Loyola University in Baltimore.
