In Memoriam: Lorenza G. Patrick, 1946-2015

patrickLorenza Patrick, who served as director of the Small Business Development Center at Alabama State University in Montgomery, died on  May 19 after a short illness. He was 69 years old.

Patrick was a native of Montgomery and graduated from Alabama State University in 1968 with a degree in chemistry. He later earned an MBA from Troy University in Alabama.

Patrick worked for distiller Seagram & Sons in Maryland as a chemist for more than two decades before returning to Alabama in 1992. He served as an admissions recruiter and an adjunct professor of marketing at Alabama State. In 1995, he was appointed director of the university’s Small Business Development Center and served in that post until his death.
