Karyn S. Hollingsworth was named executive director of university communications and marketing at Jackson State University in Mississippi. She has been serving as director of communications for the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Dr. Hollingsworth is a graduate of the University of Memphis, where she majored in journalism. She holds master’s and doctoral degrees in education from the University of Mississippi.
Sheila Caldwell was named adviser to the president on diversity at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. She joined the university’s staff in 2013 as director of the Complete College Georgia initiative. She will continue in that post. Previously, Caldwell was state coordinator of high school initiatives for the Technical College System of Georgia.
Caldwell is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, where she majored in marketing. She holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Argosy University and is currently in the workforce education doctoral program at the University of Georgia.
Mark Alnutt was appointed deputy director of athletics at the University of Memphis. He has been serving as athletics director at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. He has served in the this role for the past three years.
Alnutt is a graduate of the University of Missouri, where he played on the football team. He earned a master’s degree in public administration with an emphasis on sports psychology at the University of Missouri.

Dr. Hughes earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an MBA from Mississippi State University. He holds a Ph.D. in human resource development from Louisiana State University.

Hill is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington. She earned a master’s degree in business from Indiana Wesleyan University and is currently pursuing a doctorate in higher education from Azusa Pacific University.

Dr. Watson holds a bachelor’s degree and a doctoral degree in childhood studies from Rutgers University-Camden. She also earned a master’s degree in education/psychological services from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Calixte is a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans. She earned a Ph.D. in chemistry at Louisiana State University.

Dr. Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication, a master’s degree, and a doctorate in higher education administration, all from Jackson State University.
Gordon A. Rowe Jr. was appointed general counsel at Kentucky State University in Frankfort. He has been doing business in his own law practice since 2002.
Rowe is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where he majored in economics, and the West Virginia University College of Law. He is the past president of the Louisville chapter of the National Bar Association.
