Morgan State University Announces Its First Endowed Faculty Chair

Morgan State University, the historically Black educational institution in Baltimore, has announced the establishment of the first endowed professorship at the school. The Endowed Chair in Internet of Things Security was established by a $1 million grant from the Maryland Department of Commerce.

The first holder of the endowed chair will be Kevin T. Kornegay, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Morgan State. Dr. Kornegay joined the faculty at Morgan State in 2012. Previously, he was a Motorola Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. From 1997 to 2005, Dr. Kornegay served on the electrical and computer engineering faculty at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Professor Kornegay is a graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. He holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.
