White Supremacists Post Flyers and Banners at Southern Methodist University

White supremacist flyers and banners were posted on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas. The flyers and banners contained messages such as “Reclaim America,” “No more tolerance, no more diversity,” and “White men! Save your people.”

The flyers and banners contained the name of the Texas Vanguard. The White supremacist group posted photos online of masked men giving the Nazi salute while standing in front of one of the banners.

R. Gerald Turner, president of Southern Methodist University, issued a statement that read in part: “While SMU strongly supports freedom of speech and expression, the outside group featured on these signs promotes an abhorrent message that is opposite to SMU values. Our University community is deeply committed to maintaining an educational environment that is welcoming and inclusive.”

African Americans make up 5 percent of the 6,500-member undergraduate student body at Southern Methodist University.

  1. Much could be said about the messages conveyed by the perpetrators of this racist drivel.
