Fielding is a global university offering renowned programs in the fields of psychology, human and organizational development, leadership, and education. Fielding is uniquely focused on serving adult learners and working professionals via hybrid and fully online programs. The next President will be charged with crafting and implementing a new, innovative vision for the future of Fielding Graduate University that will lead to a sustainable, long-term trajectory.
Fielding Graduate University is a global, distributed community of professionals dedicated to lifelong learning, social justice, the fusion of scholarship and practice, and advancement for individuals, organizations, communities, and society. Taught by faculty representing a breadth of scholarship and practice, its rigorous curriculum offers courses and degrees in psychology, leadership, and education for professionals living and working anywhere in the world. With headquarters in Santa Barbara, California, and Washington, D.C., Fielding is a 501(c)3 nonprofit graduate institution with 940 enrolled students in doctoral, master’s, and certificate programs. Students learn remotely through a distributed learning model, with opportunities for in-person learning, including regional gatherings, Global Sessions, and program-specific conferences. The position of President will be remote, located within the United States.
The next President will have the opportunity to craft a broadly shared vision that will facilitate organizational change, enhance and reinvigorate academic programs given market-based relevance, advance marketing and branding opportunities, further fundraising efforts, and heighten communication and transparency across the university in the context of an organizational turn-around. Key priorities of the next Fielding President include:
- Developing a strategic vision for the university that will focus on growth, efficiency, and innovation, reinvigorating Fielding’s place as the premier institution for adult learners at the forefront of graduate and doctoral education in the social and behavioral sciences
- Facilitating a shift in institutional operations to optimize efficiencies, increase external funding, and increase enrollment opportunities
- Diversifying revenue streams to maintain and improve the university’s financial stability
- Enhancing communication and collaboration in the distributed organizational model
- Sustaining Fielding’s core mission of social justice and sustainability
- Developing a strong portfolio of academic offerings toward change and innovation

This is a full-time position that will be performed remotely in the United States. Salary for the role is currently anticipated to range from $350,000 to $425,000, commensurate with experience. Fielding Graduate University also offers a highly competitive and comprehensive benefits package.
