The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam seeks highly qualified candidates for the full-time, tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education. Successful candidates will demonstrate creative and innovative approaches to the study of music and the ability to teach students with diverse interests and backgrounds. Teaching responsibilities will include the following: coordinating the choral music education program, directing one or more choral ensembles such as the Crane Concert Choir, facilitating choral practicum and field experiences, teaching music education and/or choral courses based on the candidate’s experience and the needs of the department, and other courses as determined by the School of Music including those related to SUNY Potsdam’s General Education Program. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain or develop a regional and national reputation as a choral music educator and/or conductor and to participate in service to the college, school, and department through activities such as advising, assessment, and recruitment. This position may require teaching during evening/weekend hours, online, or at off-site locations.
