Position:
The College of Liberal Arts invites applications for 9-month full-time non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of History with a specialization in Early American history beginning August 2026.
Qualifications:
PhD in History or related fields required. ABD applicants considered. Demonstrated excellence in teaching the history of Early America.
Responsibilities:
Faculty are assigned an instructional workload of eight (8) course units per academic year. The candidate will be required to teach the first half of the United States survey (to 1865), Towson’s first-year seminar, and courses in Colonial America and Revolutionary America. When scheduling permits, Assistant Teaching Professors may teach an upper-level course in the area of their research specialty. Some service to the department, college, university, and discipline is expected, as is a willingness to support the mission and priorities of the College of Liberal Arts and Towson University.

Salary and Benefits:
Targeted salary range: $58,000-$60,000.
